Just My Cup of Coffee

Coffee isn’t really my thing but I can appreciate a good coffee shop.

While wandering around the airport, I stumbled into Umutu Coffee Shop! They stood outside trying to woo people into coming in and I took the bait.

It’s a nice, jazzy, arty coffee house that is trying to start a social coffee place similar to that of Starbucks. Soon, you’ll see them everywhere, but for now their flagship store is at the departure lounge of the Murtala Mohammed Airport (domestic wing).

I loved the detailing in the design of the place such as the throw pillows and the paintings on the walls which are for sale.

They also have a piano and a guitar which comes in useful when live music is on offer (usually on Sundays). However guests are not allowed to play except given special permission.

My breakfast was decent, I read my book and was able to get to the departure gates in good time because of the location.

I especially love how friendly their staff is, and when I left something behind, they sent someone to come give it to me at the gates. Good customer service goes a long way.

So if you’re ever at the airport and you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, stop by and see if they brew your type of coffee. Cash & cards are allowed for payments. #gallery-2676-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2676-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2676-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2676-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

For a sandwich and water, I spent about N1200 (4GBP, 5EUR, $6)
