I’ve mentioned it here before that every time my friend comes into the country, we go restaurant hunting and this trip was no different.
This time we tried out Rodizzio in Ikeja. I’ll start by saying DO NOT order their cranberry juice. The pack said cranberry juice but it was something else inside. It didn’t even look like cranberry juice.
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, Rodizzio is a 5 year old Nigerian restaurant/lounge that draws inspiration from Brazil, America and Eurpoe, thereby leading to a fusion of cultures with their meals. You can either go with seafood or beef but either way you’re sure to enjoy their meals.
I was a bit skeptical when we got there because it was lunch time and it was empty; however it ended up being an interesting experience being the only customers there.
What we got.
Surf n turf (mixture of sea food, beef & chicken.
Jambalaya Rice
Water
My fish was cold but my friend and I agreed that the food was really good. The only problem was that it took too long to bring the food out. I was almost sure they had just gone to kill the cow or something, but the wait was worth it, thankfully.
They were also gracious enough to take the cranberry juice off our bill, which I thought was great. While the waiter argued that the cranberry juice was original, I liked that he willingly accepted that we didn’t agree with the taste.
The lounge section of the restaurant can be found upstairs, but wasn’t open for business yet.
Rodizzio could do with a paint job and should look into maybe sprucing up the inside a little bit more, but I definitely don’t regret checking it out.
I’m glad to say however that they are now currently undergoing renovation and will be open for business sometime in the 1st week of Feb.
